A number of years ago I heard Dr.George Sheehan, cardiologist, competitive masters runner and author give a presentation, “The Simple Life Told Simply.”
His talk in about 1983 about what we now call wellness before that word was really used by anyone. His talk about exercise, nutrition and sleep included the following…
“ We all get exactly 24 hours in a day- no more no less. Simply stated we get 8 hours for our work and 8 hours for our sleep and 8 hours for our self. The question is, “Do we each get the 8 hours that belongs to us?” How many people do we know who get home from work, have supper and crash and fall asleep in front of the TV, rendering unto Caesar the our personal 8 hours?”
There are many components of a healthy and vibrant lifestyle. One of the most important components is the hours we devote to sleep and the quality of that sleep .
Dr. George is also the author of “Getting Fit & Feeling Great“.
As we go along with postings in the Sleep Category of this blog, we will share what we have learned about sleep and how to enhance the quality of each night’s sleep.
ASEA has been used by some to increase energy, healing and for others a good night sleep.
